Dodo

( Raphus cucullatus )

The Dodo (Raphus cucullatus) is a flightless bird from the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean & first recorded mention was by Dutch sailors in 1598.

The Dodo was hunted to extinction by humans and invasive species introduced to it’s habitat by humans. The Dodo is perhaps the most well-known example of human-induced extinction.
